A Picnic in the Park

Tuesdays are long days for Vera and I.  Adam goes straight from work on Tuesday evenings to the golf course, and he usually comes home around 8:30 or 9.  Normally, I try to find something to do on Tuesday evenings to break up the day.  We've visited McDonald's, gone to the pool, visited grandma, gone to get groceries, and gone for walks.  If we go somewhere to eat, I always have coupons or freebies of some sort.

Last week, we went to the park.  I picked up a $2 sub at Subway and packed some other food and drinks.  We ate on the picnic table in the park.  It was a beautiful evening--unseasonably cool for August.

Then Vera had fun playing in the park.  She likes the playground for really little kids, but she ventured out to the "big kid" area too because it wasn't crowded.  The merry-go-round was a huge hit, even though I didn't get any pictures to prove it.  Hank and Ruthie showed up later to play, and Vera was excited to see them and have some playmates.

She looks so grown up here!
