End of Summer & Back to School

After the excitement and busyness of Karen's wedding, we squeezed in the last few fun things for our summer.  I think we made the most of our last days; it was busy with appointments, outings and activities.

We took Vera to Columbus to her annual orthopedic appointment.  Adam & I enjoyed some one-on-one time with Vera that day.  We made a few stops on the way home to eat and shop.  She checked out well at her appointment, and took advantage of a chance to pose for a picture while we waited for the doc.
We had our annual campout at Mike & Rosie's house in mid-August.  Here's the one and only picture I took from the weekend.  Vera, Bailey and Mindy slept in the tent, per tradition.  Everyone enjoyed water activities, food and time together.

Soccer practices started at the end of August.  Vera was a little nervous about starting soccer, but so far she's enjoyed it.

Vince had to start sporting his Tiger jersey for the start of football season.
Paula watched the kids right before school started, and she took this picture of the present and future Tigers.

On the last true day of summer, we made plans with the Homans to go to the pool one last time.  But, the weather was much too cool and windy for the pool, so we opted for bowling and pizza instead.  The kids had a great time, even though it was a bit chaotic with 6 kids and 2 moms.  We were constantly reminding everyone to have a seat, wait their turn, and stay off the alley.  The kids were pretty entertained by Nora's incredibly slow-moving bowling ball that managed to lose momentum and stop in the middle of the lane.  One game of bowling was enough for this high-energy gang.
